Makeshift Guild List Document

Browsing through disbanded it kinda still blows my mind how many guilds there actually were back then.

Am kinda sad that i missed most of it :awkward:

Wow :o It even has my first guild on it! There are so many guilds that are disbanded, did all the players stop playing or are they still in the active guilds?

I can't say for sure regarding all of the players, but I am pretty confident that majority of the leaders posted in this list have stopped playing as most of these guilds are from 2014~2016 where guilds were vast. However after the tournament fiascos and dying playerbase, it's safe to assume that more than 60% of players, roughly guestimating, only play occasionally/stopped playing entirely.

If you asked me 5 years ago how many guilds do I think will be left in 2019, I would've walked away laughing my tits off, but I'll give it to you, looking through the list, I'm impressed.

It’s definitely a list that says a lot, but it’s difficult to keep up to date for the active guilds thanks to me not being able to play as much as I used to and no longer a part of the AoTTG Guild Discord server. Thankfully digging helps a lot, but I’m sure there are more, but majority being the Latin guilds which I have nearly zero reference for. Honestly surprised myself that so many still stick around, but they are definitely not what they used to be.

I still play somewhat consistently (read: about once a week when I host my weekday servers) :aww:

Found a new guild btw called Midnight Tempo, I think it's a new guild. Only member I've seen is Shapewaver so I presume they're the leader? Idk :thonk:
And also The Goatriders Horde is very much alive and kicking, they're nice and fun

I’ve recently become addicted to OneNote and started making a ton of stuff in it. This led me to assisting with a bud’s guide and I thought it would be a perfect time to do that thing I wanted to do with guilds that I talked about.

This is the first rough design I will copy paste for the guilds, granted I may flip it because of the logo space will mostly be empty for most guilds and it would look weird having the “About” information being on the left side, but you get the idea of what I’ll do.

Looks very clean and nice my dude, I was toying around with a custom page for individual guilds for this site and couldn't really find a layout or style that I found would work, since some guilds have lengthy descriptions and elaborate logos with enormous rosters and ranks, while others are just a guild of 4 people with the description that reads just "yeet" and that's pretty much it.

I agree. That’s why if I decide to continue this, most descriptions will be reworded and edited by me to make it less of a mess. Take GAddess’ description on the Wikia. It’s lengthy and has a lot of information that is probably irrelevant and even goes against the “short description” requirement when posting your guild. Thankfully with OneNote, the best program ever for this stuff, can collapse all these types of information and still make it look good. Like the About section on the image could be broken down and expanded while still keeping the layout nice and I think it’s pretty useful. Granted that if this ever goes public, I’m not going to do like the Wikia and make anyone allowed to edit it for obvious reasons. The big one is that this “Guide” also has a players list and having random people add themselves when they haven’t contributed to the community or actively done anything that would give them status is just making a mess of things. And example would be:

What does not qualify as being added: My name is Fulio-Kun and I am a super big pro. I’ve managed to hit 200 4ks and have 5 friends in my group suck my ego all the time. I also made a really cool map that’s just another 1K map that no one plays on but me because it’s exclusive to just me and my followers on my YT channel that has 100 subs.

And of course those that are added are the ones that basically played long enough to reach world records, invent techniques, formed communities, and whatnot.

The only thing really stopping me from working on it right now is that it’s a huge pain to sit down and type all this for literally nothing. Like right now I’m working on describing every official technique invented from 2013-2019 and not having internet makes this a pain. Mostly because I want to add gif images recreating the moves and that’s just a pain doing when you’re heavily limited. But it’s coming along. Just wish there wasn’t 41 techniques just for killing titans let alone PvP, Movement, and such.

I've also seen people edit the wikia page out of spite and talk trash about people without repercussions and telling lies and really bad stuff about them :awkward:

It would be smart if we would have an editorial team for this universal guild list that would be neutral and transparent and edit in the guilds' descriptions and all that following rules and guidelines and by request of the guild leader. Would make things a lot more organised!

Yeah that would be great. I haven’t looked into OneNote on browser too much to see how permissions work, but when I peeped on it as a guest, it appears it would have similar permissions like Google Docs with allowing certain individuals to edit it. If that’s the case then it would be possible to have that editorial team. Just have to add a page that links to a contact/submission form. Downside is that the people who are actually capable of writing out proper descriptions, handling people, and be trustworthy with these things is pretty small. So if this ever gets done, which actually wouldn’t take too long if I spent a whole day doing it, I may consider having a person or two looking over it with me, but honestly it may just stay me because I honestly don’t think the community is adding too much new stuff for it to be bombarded with new submissions and changes to need more people. But again, we will see.
