Remembering Angelo

On August 11th, 2019. A modder known as, "PunchedxAngelo" took his own life. I wasn't notified of it until two days later by lel-chan. And holy shit I'm still devastated.

He had been dealing with depression and a mental illness since he was a teen. He tried to commit suicide before, but thankfully was stopped due to his girlfriend at the time calling the police. He was 19-years-old when he chose to do it again and succeeded.

I don't know if any of you know about him. But I considered him a really good friend. We only talked a few times on Discord, but he'd always have something absolutely hilarious to say. And it's a tragedy that he's no longer with us.

There wasn't anything I was able to do. But I said this in our PMs after being told.

That isn’t a serious tragedy. I want to know if this person is the same guy I know as I know a PunchedXAngel who I believed went by Otakumaster as well at one time. Leader of Log Horizon and some other stuff if I remember. I can’t remember if this is the same person though, but whether it isn’t or isn’t, it’s still rough losing someone in the community; especially someone who wasn’t your average player.

I don't believe he's ever had that alias before. Just "PunchedxAngelo".

I wish I would've been able to help him before this shit happened. But it's what it is, I guess.

Just looking into it via AoTTG’s Official Discord and some other related servers I knew him in and yeah it’s the same guy. Pretty sad seeing the messages though with a lot of the larger players like Kaze and Alpha literally telling him to kill him self back in January. Whether he was being obnoxious or not, still not a great way to handle things.

I remember back in 2017 I think, we were in a Skype group made up of all the guild leaders in AoTTG. We decided to setup a PvP tournament and Angel helped with a good bit of it. Granted he leaked everyone’s contact information to the public, but still. Very unfortunate to hear such a thing happened to someone I had some contact with over the years. I didn’t know him too personally, but regardless it’s still a shame.

I'm really gonna miss him.

I knew Otakumaster too, in fact, he has an account here and our guilds supported each other. I'm saddened to hear that he had chosen to take his life, he was a good person and very passionate about what he did. My sincere condolences to his close friends and family. I'm gonna miss our chats in the aotskins discord buddy :awkward:

I didn't know him personally, I only had seen him here and heard about him, but this is so sad... May he rest in peace.
